I was remiss in not writing this review sooner! This is another wonderful addition in the Shades of Grey series. Although this may be the last story with Jala as the "focal" character, we are so enamored with her other comrades, that we can easily see the series moving forward with one of them becoming the central character in this gripping saga. Kudos to Melissa Myers as the editing of this book is top notch and her writing style is wonderful and embracing!
Melissa Myers' Elder Blood Chronicles are amazing. I've laughed, I've cried (and cried), I've hung onto the edge of my seat and white-nuckled my poor while reading this series. At the end of each book I get so frustrated because I have to wait for the next book!!
Melissa creates a fantasy world full of magic and intrigue, characters who leap off the page, creatures that defy imagination. You get so drawn into the relationships, the epic battles, the world that is Sanctuary, that you forget you are only reading a book.
I stumbled across this series by chance and thought, what the heck? I'll give it a shot. WHAT a hidden gem! If this series fell into the right hands, we could be looking at the next mass fantasy fiction following!
Again, I can't say enough good things about this author and her series. One of my favorite things about Myers books is that she isn't predictible. Book three especially keeping me on my toes! I might think I know what's going to happen, but then she throws in a twist along the way that keeps me guessing. Her character development and story progression is beyond anything else I've ever read. Normally I lose many chacacters in any given storyline but I find myself attached to and remembering all of Myers characters even up to book three. Valor has quickly become one of my favorite as I've learned more about him in each book. The battle is epic and I was awed by Myers methods and ideals as to how magic works. So in depth and intricate. Truly beautiful elaboration of magic and it's use. So before I slip and drop a spoiler I will leave on this note... truly amazing, yet again! I knew book four was on my must have list! Enjoy!
